Entry #10: My Experience of Blogging

At the beginning of this semester, I couldn’t expect that I had to create my own blog and being a blogger throughout the semester. To be honest, I don’t like writing, especially writing in English is a challenge for me because English is my second language. Writing a blog was so hard for me at first because I thought writing a blog is the same as writing an essay and it has to be perfect so the reader may be interested in it. However, after I started writing and reading blogs from many different people and from my classmate, also. I know that your own blog is your own website where you can write and share anything that you want to share such as your life, your day story, or something that you are interested in; all of them doesn’t have to be as perfect as an essay. It just has to be a blog where you can express your own feeling about things.

I’ve learned some things about writing a blog. First, I’ve learned how to pick a topic that may be interesting to the reader. The interesting topic is usually a topic that everyone has a concern and discussion about it at the time. Second, I learned how to make a “hook” at the beginning of a blog to be able to grab all the reader’s attention. In addition, being a student by blogging taught me that writing isn’t as boring as I thought. It would be more fun in a way that you enjoy it. Also, blogging has changed the way I understand of assignments. This kind of assignment is very valuable and it doesn’t make me feel a headache, anxiety or another kind of stressor. It makes me feel comfortable to pick my own topic to talk and share what I think. It also makes me curious to read comments from my classmates and to see what are they thinking about my topic.
Once again, I have the best experience of writing a blog and now I enjoy to share my feeling, my life with other people by writing blogs. I hope you guys will be able to go through all of these experiences and start to loving blog as much as I do. Good luck to you, future student!

Entry #9 Electronic Waste

Electronic waste, known as ‘e-waste’, can be defined as electronic equipment, products that connect with power plugs and batteries which have become old fashion due to the advancement in technology. Types of E-Waste are computers, servers, mainframes, monitors, TVs & display devices, telecommunication devices such as cellular phones & pagers, calculators, audio and video devices, printers, scanners, copiers and fax machines besides refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, and microwave ovens, e-waste also covers recording devices such as DVDs, CDs, tapes, electronic components such as chips, processors, and motherboards are all considered e-waste.

In order to control the amount of e-waste, many countries recycle the old systems or the old fashion electronics and sell them to another country at a lower price. Although, there are a few countries that reuse, recycle and reproduce the electronics, not all the countries allow the electronics to be recycled or resold. Additionally, The large number of people using computers and electronic equipment’s and dumping old electronic goods for new ones, the amount of E-Waste generated has become one of the biggest environmental problems in the world. As a result, electronic waste management has become very important not only due to the generation of our own waste but also dumping of e-waste, especially computer waste from various countries.

Every time you replace one of your electronic devices, it’s your responsibility to be sure your old one gets recycled properly. Ideally, your first step will be to consume less. Don’t get pulled into the hype of new technology if you can help it. If you do want something, try to find a gently-used version first. Then, when you have an expired product, take the time to find a responsible e-waste recycler.

entry #8 Tattoos

Tattoos have been around for a long time and have always been a subject that causes controversy and judgment in a social. Some people view the tattoos as unprofessional and offensive while others view them as a form of self-expression and art. As the mean of art, tattoos are subjective. It differs in everyone’s opinion; you might love it but others might hate it.

My parent always tells me to be myself but they are refused by the idea of putting a tattoo on my body, which is something that I wasn’t born with but I will die with. In my opinion, tattoos are art, and they would be a form of self-expression for someone. They tell a story of a person’s experiences. Especially for their beliefs, and their achievements. They keep the memories that you don't want to forget. They remind you of the fact that you have to remember. In many cases, it describes who you are. However, in my parent's view, they are denied the meaning of tattoos. Tattoos are bad in their view, they say tattoos are for gangsters. They always give me a lot of question whenever I mention about tattoos such as “Why would you want to mark up your skin like that?", "Why would you want to hurt yourself like that?” “Are you going to want something like that in the next 10 years?" "How are you going to explain to your children?" or "Are you going to be happy with the way it looks then?".

On the other hand, tattoos are just a form of art because tattoos should not hinder someone from anything in life. It is a way for people to start loving who they are and who they will become.

Entry #7: what they don’t tell you

Have you ever wondered that is the food industry tell you all the truth about their product? Or are you believe all the things that the food companies have told? Here is a interesting video I found on youtube, which names “the food industry-what they don’t tell you”. This video is 14 minutes long and it talks about the secret things that the food companies don’t want their consumer to know. The topic is around the chemicals sugar and the chemicals that many companies have added in their product; even in the water supply that we are using every single day has chemical too. Furthermore, this video shows us how chemical sugar and chemical affected to our body; it caused to obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.

Today people seem to just care about the quantity instead of quality. It leads the Americans to become fat and fatter by consuming the chemical food every day. In my opinion, I think this video is must watch video for those whose care about the food industry and things behind it.

Entry #5: "FRESH"

I come from a country where people use to work in a factory that producing products by contract and animals farming, so I thought I kind of know the process of how people producing food but not really. After watched the “Fresh” film, I realized that how terrible it really is. In addition, there are a lot of news and posts on social media say today people are using a lot of chemicals in their veggies and animals to help them look fresh, big and heavier so the farmer would get more benefit from their produces.

There were some baby chicks being thrown to the ground like they weren’t living things that part of the film made I felt so upset because those chicks are living things and they are still alive in that time, so they must get better treated.

The film is trying to show everyone the terrible views that are hidden behind the word "food". Also, It lets people think about the future of productivity. They are trying to tell people to stop produce food with chemicals just because of 3 times growing faster and cost cheaper price! Someone who cares about their health might choose to consume organic food instead of eating regular food that has chemicals in.
The film taught me more about the process of making food. It is a special one because it showed people things that go on behind the process of making food. It helps everyone to understand what is good and bad for their health, and how could food affected their health. I believe that everyone is much worry about the food that they are consuming after watching this film.

Entry blog #4 Arizonans And Raining!

I am new to Arizona so I am very surprised by the act of people who live in Arizona for a long time. It's the time we welcome the dusty, windy, and rainy weather that only seems to happen around this time in Arizona. Some of my friends keep texting me like “It's raining!!!” with all caps of excitement saying it's raining even though they know that I can see the droplets pouring down. Also, some people act as they’ve never seen rain before. It sounds overdramatic but really, some people act like that. They also take many pictures of the rain and post it on social media with the excited caption. It seems like they extremely love the rain but nobody leaves their house to enjoy the rain as they mean to. Some people keep saying that they love rain and don't mind it, they wish if the rain would be longer and harder. Don’t they even care about the flash flooding, or the rain going to turn into big rain storms? Moreover, whenever it’s raining you will receive a noisy alarm message on your smartphones about the approaching of the storms. The ringing sound of that message is always loud and obnoxious that can cause someone into thinking the phenomenon is much worse. However, It's funny if you are in a large public place and everyone’s phone is ringing at the same time; it happens because each phone in the room receive the alarm message in sync.
